11-11-09_worst_loss_in_jackets_history

This game was DOA (Dead On Arrival).  The Wings dominated from start to finish.

The Jackets players should refund every paying Jackets fan their money for that embarassment -- they can keep the turncoats dough. I'm not much of a boo'er but they got everything they deserved on this night.

The worst loss in the Hitch-era.  Heck maybe of all time.  What a bookend on his 1000th NHL game.

STOPLIGHT GAME REVIEW
vs. Detroit
11.11.09
SCORE: Wings 9 Jackets 1

GREEN
* First off a BIG congrats to Hitch on his 1,000th NHL game.  That is one heck of a milestone.  Too bad the team decided to take the night off.

* Secondly to our veterans both past and present out there.. WE SALUTE YOU!

* No octopi on the ice this night.  Nice work Jackets fans!

YELLOW
*  Well at least it wasn't a shutout.. or if you really want a reach.. at least it wasn't double digit scoring.

* What a block by Klesla early in the 1st period.. took it off the noggin. It saved a goal (not like it mattered unless you wanted to make it that even 10) because Mase was very late getting over.

* Great time for Boll to fight to try to get some momentum.. he owned the old timer in May who missed on his initial swing.... lost his balance and Boll got a couple of good shots in.  Too bad it ended up meaning squat.

* Somehow there were 3 Jackets players without a minus.  MacKenzie, Pahlsson and Klesla.

* Syracuse won their game in a shootout 4-3.  Fritsche, Picard and Frischmon with the goals.  Maybe we should call them up.

RED
* About as bad of a start you can have in a game and it never stopped.  At one point I thought the Wings were going to score as many goals as Hitch has coached.  As I stated, the worst loss in the CBJ Hitchcock era....maybe ever.

* The Jackets collectively were a -30 with Hejda and Commodore each leading the way with a -4.

* I think it's safe to say Mase is officially suffering the sophomore slump.  He was a complete mess.  I have absolutely no idea why Hitch put him back in this game or why he didn't take him back after two more suspect goals.  Perhaps the thinkin was it doesn't matter... to that I say do we really need to completely crush what confidence this kid has left?

* Raffi with a nasty puck to the face.  Gone for the night.

* Jackets were not nasty.. they didn't hit.. they didn't scrum during or after the whistle... they were lazy on the puck.. didn't move their legs..  they were, excuse my language, a bunch of pussies out there and let this Wings team dictate the entire friggan game.  You have to get in their faces!!  To say it was a disappointing effort is a disappointing attempt to describe the effort.

* Jackets fans pay and show up night in and night out for these games... they've put up with the Wings fan's arrogance for 9 damn years... If there is any team they want the Jackets to get up for and punish to a pulp this is it!!!!  Get that through your heads Jackets players!!  If this is the effort you're gonna give we'll all stay home and let the turncoats have their way with you.

* Somebody take off Davidige's Wings jersey... Instead of pointing out what the Jackets were doing wrong it was Detroit is this.. Detroit is that...

* Even on breakdowns for guys like Filatov and Umberger the Jackets couldn't score.

* Jackets score in the 2nd period then stop skating and let the Wings come down and score again...and again...and again...

* Somebody put an APV out for Derek Brassard... I haven't seen him the past two games.  Same for Vermette...Commodore was a statue all night.  Hell, everyone sucked in this game.

* If I hear one more time how young the Jackets are versus how old the Wings are I'm gonna puke.

* What happened to the mean crease clearing Klesla...?  Just let Holmstrom set up camp right in front of Mase...

3 BRIGHT LIGHTS ON THE NIGHT
1. Last CBJ player out don't forget to shut off the lights.

Despite this score I know the Jackets can play with this team.  They just need to wake up!!

I hope the Jackets brass doesn't try to spin this and just call it what it is.. a complete ass kickin.

Boys better use it as motivation and take it out on Anaheim Friday.

Check the parking lot and see if their cars are even there. It looked like they stayed home. Feel bad for Hitchcock and the fans. He deserves better and the fans deserve better than what we saw tonight.

The first three goals all came after a turnover. Even in games they won, the Jackets have struggled with getting pucks out of the zone. Really sloppy with the puck tonight and that is an understatement.

Detroit did get embarrassed in their last game against lowly Toronto. It is clear they wanted to play better after that effort. Hopefully the Jackets can do that to Anaheim on Friday.
Brassard Playing Tough
written by Yakkerm, November 12, 2009
I think Brassard was very frustrated. He laid 4 or 5 soild checks and was trying to slow them down that way. I know he hasnt been as magical of a playmaker as we had all hoped but he can get physical if you make him mad
