The International Scouting Service has released their top 30 for January. Here is their top 10:
1. Grigorenko, Mikhail, RW 5/16/94 L 6.03.25 200Québec QMJHL
2. Yakupov, Nail, LW 10/6/93 L 5.10.5 189 Sarnia OHL
3. Forsberg, Filip, RW 8/13/94 R 6.01 176 Leksands SweAl
4. Trouba, Jacob, RD 2/26/94 R 6.02 196 USA Under-18 NTDP
5. Murray, Ryan, LD 9/27/93 L 6.00.5 201 Everett WHL
6. Dumba, Matt, RD 7/25/94 R 5.11.75 183 Red Deer WHL
7. Gaunce, Brendan, C 3/25/94 L 6.02 215 Belleville OHL
8. Rielly, Morgan, LD 3/9/94 L 5.11.5 190 Moose Jaw WHL
9. Reinhart, Griffin, LD 1/24/94 L 6.03.75 207 Edmonton WHL
10. Maatta, Olli, LD 8/22/94 L 6.01.5 202 London OHL
Couple of things immediately stand out:
* Grigorenko over Yakupov for the 2nd straight month.
* Canadian dman Ryan Murray dropped from 4 to 5 while American dman Jacob Trouba rose from 6 to 4.
* Similar to the NHL's Central Scouting Service - ISS has a lot of 'D' in their top 10. In fact, CSS has 7 D in their top 10 while ISS has 6. The odd dman out on the ISS list is Derrick Pouliot. He is ranked 10th on the CSS list while he's 21st on the ISS list.
Here are the bottom 10 in the NHL as of today, January 18th, 2012:

So 45 games down for the CBJ with 37 to go. Each of the last two years Edmonton has finished dead last with 62 points. That included a cushion of 12 points in 09-10 and 6 points in 10-11 over the 29th worst team. To hit that 62 point mark the Jackets would have to go something like 14-18-3 over that stretch.
So what is it now? Fail for Nail or Mikhail?
