Noel a "presser", eh?

So Claude did 18 minutes in the post-game press deal, eh? (Missed it as I was celebrating the win with a lot of other folks in the R Bar.)

But, he wasn't done, folks. The guy went on and on and on and on on the "Between the Pipes" Jackets radio show (WBNS 97.1 The Fan radio) and also on the "un-named" hockey show just after on 610 WTVN (again radio) this (Sunday) morning. Claude really was great. He told a very detailed account of how his day went last Wednesday when Hitch was fired and he learned he was Interim Coach. Very interesting fellow. He almost seemed like he was using these radio outlets as a kind of therapy to help him deal with the amazing events in his life. If podcasts are available (I know they are for 97.1 The Fan) and you haven't heard his lengthy often "sole exposing" speeches, I would highly recommend a listen. He seems like a real regular guy. But, can he keep this going?

(Disclaimer: Although it may not seem this way, I have no affiliation with either radio station.) - CBJ_Nut

I did enjoy watching this game. Unfortunately as you said, the PP looked lukewarm, with the exception of Nash's diving goal, and Raffi's goal.

I'd like to believe that the quake caused by Hitch's replacement will drive this team to the playoffs, and into next year, but as Daniel said, it's unlikely it will last through two weeks of break for the Olympics. Players will be away from the team, and those that aren't playing in the Games, who knows if they'll be practicing or not.

It certainly has been fun to watch the Jackets in these last 2 games. And I think that, playing at home, we'll carry this momentum into at least another couple wins before the Olympic break. But to say that at this point I'm cautiously optimistic would be an overstatement.

The momentum gained from firing a coach who was not liked (I think that's clear at this point) will only last so long. I'm not sure I believe that it can realistically take us into the 2010-11 season with a full head of steam on its own. Hell, I'm not even convinced it's going to last through the Olympic break. The bottom line for me is that the future of this team remains uncertain, but I'll enjoy the "new" Jackets for now. - Daniel
