20090-2010 Ohio State Men's hockey schedule

Ohio State dropped yet another game last night to Lake Superior State 3-2.

They drop to 1-4 on the season and are dead last in the CCHA.

The Men's hockey Buckeyes drop another tonight to the 7th/8th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

(Yeah they are actually good at hockey)

The nightmare of a season continues with a 1-5-0 record.

Buckeyes rallies not once, but twice, to beat the Irish in a shootout 3-2.

The bad news is even with this win the Buckeyes are 2-5-1.

The good news is that both of their wins have come against top 10 ranked teams.

Ohio State loses to Northern Michigan by a final of 1-0 in front of 2k at Value City Arena.

Record now sits at 2-6-1.

Lose one. Win one.

That seems to be the theme this year for the Buckeyes men's hockey squad.

They knocked off Northern Michigan 5-4 with a late goal from Sergio Somma with 1:32 left in regulation.

Record: 3-6-1.

Was a good weekend for Ohio State men's hockey.

They swept Western Michigan by scores of 4-2 in both games.

They improve to 4-3-1 in the CCHA and 5-6-1 overall as they look to get their season back on track.

They'll play @ Ferris State this weekend.

Figures that the Jackets have a 5 game road trip and OSU is also out of town

There just aren't enough hours in my hockey day sometimes.

I absolutely HATE missing when Michigan comes to town to play OSU in hockey which was the case this weekend.

The hockey Bucks played two very good games against a shockingly very mediocre Michigan squad who is just 4-6-0 in the CCHA and in danger of missing the NCAA tourney for the first time in...well forever.

In game one the Buckeyes pounced on the Wolverines by a final of 5-3. Although the game was a 2-2 deadlock heading into the 3rd period.

An emailer sent me a heads up that RJ Umberger dropped the puck and he and Commodore were right behind the Buckeye's bench during the tilt -- pretty cool.

Pretty good crowd on hand with 5182 in attendance.

The 2nd game wasn't as kind to the Bucks as they dropped it 2-1. The Buckeyes were down 2-0 for the majority of the game and only managed to get a goal with 11 seconds left.

After the weekend the Buckeyes now sit 7th in the CCHA with an 5-6-1-1 record. They'll play #2 ranked Miami with a home and home starting Friday at the Schott at 7:05 faceoff.

Would love to catch this one.

I got tickets to the OSU Miami game on friday. i havnt paid much attention to OSU theis year anyone i should keep my eyes on? Whos the next Tom Fritche?

Zac Dalpe and John Albert are the offensive boys for the Bucks. Dalpe is a 2nd round pick of the Hurricanes in '08. He leads the team with 9g and 9a in 18g. Albert is a 6th round pick of the Thrashers in '07 although he's not having as good a year thus far as last year with just 4g 8a for 12p.

For Miami they have a couple of Jackets draft picks playing for them - most notably Will Weber who was a 2nd rd pick in the '07 draft. Columbus product and 07 7th rd pick Trent Vogelhuber also plays for them.

Ohio State with a huge win late night over in-state rival Bowling Green by a final of 7-2.

John Albert had 4 assists while CJ Severn had a goal and 2 helpers..

The Buckeyes sit 7th in the CCHA with an overall record of 8-12-1.

Like the Jackets and Syracuse it would take a miracle run over the last half of the year to make a case for any kind of tournament consideration.
